Last day of freedom...
Before the kids return from camp Grandma, that is. All in all, a week well-filled with activity:

-Dinner at La Sauvagine, a restaurant specializing in wild game. Melanie got boar stew, I got "duck variations" (comfit, breast and foie gras). To Hell with PETA, I'm addicted to foie gras now!!! (on the plus side, it is cheaper than the SCA!!! :-)))

-Started a new batch of beer, which I should be able to bottle Sunday

-Went to see the Simpsons movie

-Visited the Body Worlds exhibit in Montreal - well worth the ticket. It should be mandatory for all high scholl students when they take biology.

-Climbed Mount St.Hilaire. Discovered I still suffered from vertigo :-)

-Did some home cooking (mostly a large pot of ratatouille to get rid of all those eggplants and zucchinis and tomatoes we'd been accumulating).

And a few other random outings for beer, cheesecake, friends, and the like. We're actually going out in a few minutes again. Then we set out early tomorrow morning to pick up the kids halfway from my in-laws in Pembroke, and drop by my sister on the way back for my brother-in-law's birthday. Sunday we stay home with Renaud and Victor-Emmanuel, and with a bit of luck, we'll get to enjoy those watermelons in the garden, who have now grown to an impressive size. (And i thought they were the smaller, quick to mature kind - must have picked the wrong envelope when I bought the seeds!!!).
